Simbionix purchases GMV arthroscopic training simulator product line

Simbionix, a provider of healthcare solutions, has acquired Spain-based GMV's arthroscopic training simulator, ARTHRO VR line.

ARTHRO VR features a line of simulated procedures, combines a fiberglass limb replicas with 3D images and haptic sensation, which facilitates users to learn key aspects of the procedures.

Simbionix said simulated procedures are performed using a set of tools as used in the OR including the arthroscopic camera.

The ARTHRO VR also provides educational aids such as panoramic views and a set of metrics for complete objective assessment of the learning process.
