ECHELON Synergy uses AI-powered Synergy DLR, which is Fujifilm’s proprietary Deep Learning Reconstruction technology

FUJIFILM Healthcare Americas has received 510(k) clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for ECHELON Synergy, a new 1.5 Tesla magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system.
According to the diagnostic imaging and medical solutions provider, ECHELON Synergy uses the artificial intelligence (AI)-powered Synergy DLR, which is Fujifilm’s proprietary Deep Learning Reconstruction (DLR) technology.
The technology is intended to improve the sharpness of images and acquire scans quickly for more throughput, better image quality, and enhanced patient satisfaction.
ECHELON Synergy also has the AutoExam One Touch operation that offers technologists access to an automated workflow for knee and brain exams.
To speed up a technologist’s workflow and patient exam times, the AutoExam One Touch operation positions the patient automatically and begins the exam when the scan room door is closed, the diagnostic imaging solutions provider said.
As per a recent study by the NYU Grossman School of Medicine and Meta AI Research, reconstructing MRI pictures with AI can deliver scans four times faster than traditional scans. This could potentially increase the MRI access to more patients and shorten wait times for visits, FUJIFILM said.

“Alleviating any patient anxiety not only helps to enhance the patient experience, but could also improve a radiologist’s workflow, as the less nervous a patient, the more efficient and quickly the scan will get done.”
Additionally, the MRI system has a large bore measuring 70cm wide and a table measuring 62cm in width to accommodate patients weighing up to 550 pounds.
ECHELON Synergy has the SoftSound gradient technology to minimise acoustic noise and improve the patient experience.
Furthermore, the system has Fujifilm’s Hydro AG antibacterial coating to lower healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).
Embedded in the system’s high-touch surfaces, the coating offers a layer of added protection to stop the growth of bacteria, microorganisms, and mould on the surfaces.
