Fujifilm has combined its two medical technology businesses Fujifilm Medical Systems U.S.A and Fujifilm Healthcare Americas (formerly Hitachi Healthcare Americas) to operate under the name Fujifilm Healthcare Americas Corporation.
The new organisation combines the strengths of each company’s product portfolios and employees to advance medical care and better serve the customers.
Henry Izawa has been appointed as president and CEO of Fujifilm Healthcare Americas Corporation.
In a statement, Izawa said: “We have built a new foundation leveraging the strengths of each organisation to demonstrate the clinical value and relevance of our combined portfolio.
“Integrating two of Fujifilm’s key healthcare businesses enhances our ability to become an even more comprehensive healthcare partner for our customers.”
The new company’s executive management team consists of leaders from both businesses, including chairman Jun Higuchi, modality solutions senior vice president John Hahn, medical informatics senior vice president Bill Lacy and sales senior vice president Jason Heim.
The team also includes regulatory and quality affairs senior vice president Randy Vader, endoscopy vice president Taisuke Fujita and Takehiro Fujimoto, who is the vice president of the Office of the president and CEO.
Fujifilm’s product portfolio comprises solutions for digital radiography, computed tomography, endoscopy, endosurgery, enterprise imaging, in-vitro diagnostics, magnetic resonance imaging, mammography, and ultrasound.
The company is also developing solutions for artificial intelligence (AI) as part of its REiLI AI initiative.
More applications of REiLI will be launched in the Fujifilm booth at this year’s Radiological Society of North America (RSNA).
