Tegra Medical “Nails” Anatomical Bends

Broken leg after internal fixation with intramedullary nail on roentgenogram

Intermedullary (IM) nails look deceptively simple compared to many other medical devices but they are complex implants with highly precise anatomical bends. They must be manufactured in a wide variety of sizes to fit different peoples’ bodies.

The crucial anatomical bend is what can make IM nails so challenging for many manufacturers to make. Simply bending metal is not so difficult but bending it where the nail’s diameter changes and also not affecting the nails slots and holes (needed to affix the nail to a bone) is another story.

But bending IM nails is not “hard as nails” for Tegra Medical.   We have developed a proprietary bending process that is not thwarted by the complex geometry of an IM nail, no matter what configuration is needed.

No OEM wants to hear that their product is being subbed out to various suppliers. Tegra Medical’s end-to-end capabilities, which include Swiss turning, CNC milling, and gundrilling, enable us to make complete IM nails under one roof. From refining customer designs for more accurate and efficient manufacturing, to running validations and more, we can make your nail and other product launches easier and more efficient.

Tegra Medical won’t get bent out of shape bending your nails.
