When high-volume, complex parts are needed, our engineers turn to compression molding machines. Compression molding is a closed-mold process that offers cost effective tooling, easy prototyping and short lead times. Our compression molds are capable of producing the widest range of part sizes, from 0.02 inches to 30 inches in diameter.
Our compression molding products meet the quality standards of AS568 and ISO3601-1 for o-ring tolerances. For custom molded shapes, our molds meet ISO3601-3 grade N and grade S tolerances, as well as RMA tolerances. Our in-house compression molding capabilities guarantee highly customized parts, short lead times and competitive costs.
Top of the Line Tooling
At Apple Rubber, we believe that a quality mold will produce a quality rubber part. Our machining processes are carried out using the most precise equipment and tooling available. Within the Apple Rubber facility, our CNC milling space contains several vertical machining centers capable of efficiently machining components as large as 28 inches by 60 inches at spindle speeds up to 60,000 rpm. Our turning department utilizes both CNC and manual lathes capable of turning components from micro miniature inserts to large mold plates. Our grinding area includes both hand fed and automatic surface grinders capable of grinding components to 0.0001 inch accuracy.
Additionally, our mold making operation includes the ancillary equipment such as tool setters, manual mills, drill presses, horizontal and vertical band saws, media blasters and hydraulic presses needed to construct a quality mold.
