Zeltiq Aesthetics has announced the global introduction of CoolSmooth applicator, which features non-vacuum based cooling that easily treats non-pinchable fat bulges, and the comfortable design adjusts to fit each individual patient.
The company has launched the CoolSmooth applicator at the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), annual meeting in Denver, Colorado.
Zeltiq president and CEO Mark Foley said the introduction of the CoolSmooth applicator underscores the company’s commitment to optimizing patient outcomes and expanding CoolSculpting treatment areas.
"The ability for the CoolSculpting procedure to treat non-pinchable fat will bring new patients to — as well as current patients back into — the practice," Foley added.
According to the company, the CoolSculpting procedure is cleared for non-invasive fat reduction in the abdomen and flank in the US, while in other international markets; it is cleared for general non-invasive fat reduction.
The treatment gently cools unwanted fat cells in the body to induce a natural, controlled elimination of fat cell without harming surrounding tissue, and the treated fat cells are gone for good.
Most patients can start to see results as soon as three weeks following treatment, with the most dramatic results occurring over a period of 1-3 months.
