Regimen has introduced its personalised digital therapy, which is claimed to be the first of its kind in the world, to treat erectile dysfunction (ED).

The company said that ED affects around 150 million people across the world.

The subscription-based Regimen app, which is conceived by co-founder Max Kersting, will help address the primary causes of ED.

Regimen app is designed to offer personalised daily recommended treatments ranging from pelvic floor exercises, cardiovascular training, mindfulness and education.

The AI-driven approach will be used by the app for the personalisation of its programmes in real-time with regular reassessment cycles.

Recently, the subscription-based Regimen app has secured CE mark approval as a medical device in Europe.

Regimen co-founder and managing director Max Kersting said: “Over the last year, we’ve been able to demonstrate the demand for, and effectiveness of, holistic therapy for erectile dysfunction, which is one of the most common intimate health issues worldwide.

“Interestingly, some of the most innovative healthcare players from all over the world have approached us regarding Regimen’s potential to not only treat ED – but also to reduce the risk of adjacent conditions linked to ED, since our programming tackles the underlying causes of erectile dysfunction in a personalised way, instead of focusing on medication alone.”

The company also recently secured $2.25m in a seed round led by Ringier Digital Ventures.

According to the company, the subscription-based Regimen app is drawing attention from global healthcare organisations such as NHS to use it as a sustainable way to treat patients with ED than drug therapy or in-person visits alone.

At present, Regimen is part of the DigitalHealth.London Accelerator programme and is focusing on becoming part of every healthcare journey for patients with erectile dysfunction in the UK, the US and worldwide.
