Marco Ophthalmic has gained exclusive rights to sell Nidek's new fundus camera to the optometry market.
Nidek is currently seeking the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for its fundus camera.
Once FDA clears the new fundus camera, Marco and Nidek will jointly distribute the product.
Nidek president and CEO Motoki Ozawatheir said customers require more efficiency and diversification in their distribution channels.
"The best way to meet our increasing customer demand for this product is to focus each of our corporate resources in distinct market segments, to ultimately improve customer satisfaction," Ozawatheir said.
