Medical AI company Lunit has teamed up with the Chung Shan Medical University in Taiwan and Gleneagles Hospital in Singapore, expanding into the East and Southeast Asian regions.

Under the partnership, Lunit will supply its INSIGHT CXR solution for the detection of chest abnormalities to Chung Shan Medical University in Taiwan.

The medical device maker will also provide its INSIGHT MMG solution for mammography analysis, to the Gleneagles Hospital in Singapore.

Lunit CEO Brandon Suh said: “As demand for cutting-edge medical services continues to rise across East and Southeast Asia, Lunit is proud to spearhead the advancement of AI-powered solutions for cancer diagnostics in the region.

“Our strategic partnerships with Chung Shan Medical University and Gleneagles Hospital Singapore strengthen our presence and open new opportunities across the market.

“We believe that these contracts will pave the way for innovative approaches to cancer detection, ultimately improving patient outcomes in areas where they are most crucial.”

Through the partnership with Chung Shan Medical University (CSMU), Lunit will modernise Taiwan’s national lung cancer screening programme, which currently depends on low‐dose computed tomography (LDCT) in high-risk individuals.

CSMU will validate Lunit’s INSIGHT CXR solution for potential integration into the national cancer screening programme.

The university will evaluate its ability to detect individuals more accurately and effectively, expanding the screening to a wider group beyond high-risk individuals.

Also, Lunit will deliver its AI-powered mammography analysis solution INSIGHT MMG to Gleneagles Hospital in Singapore, a private healthcare facility within the IHH group.

By integrating Lunit’s advanced technology into its breast screening workflow, the hospital aims to enhance its screening accuracy and operational efficiency.

Earlier this year, Lunit signed a three-year supply contract with Samsung Electronics (Samsung Healthcare), to integrate its AI technology into Samsung’s premium X-ray devices.

Under the partnership, Lunit will provide Samsung Electronics with two of its AI-powered chest screening solutions, Lunit INSIGHT CXR and Lunit INSIGHT CXR Triage.
