GE Healthcare has rolled out a new CT system, Revolution Ascend, which leverages a new suite of AI solutions, dubbed Effortless Workflow.

Effortless Workflow is designed to accurately and automatically personalise scans for each patient, and simplifies the CT exam, freeing up CT technologists.

Revolution Ascend facilitates optimised scan range settings, dose and image quality for each patient, and enhances patient comfort with 21% faster exams.

Its new 75cm wide-gantry, 40mm detector coverage, and low table position are designed to lodge high body mass index (BMI) patients, along with trauma cases.

GE Healthcare molecular imaging and computed tomography president and CEO Jean-Luc Procaccini said: “We designed Revolution Ascend with accessibility in mind.

“Not only does the system’s hardware help accommodate more patients with various physical limitations, but its cutting-edge AI also helps expedite exams so healthcare system schedules can accommodate additional patient scans.

“Altogether, Revolution Ascend with Effortless Workflow helps empower clinicians to reach the right diagnosis as efficiently and precisely as possible for more patients.”

Revolution Ascend also leverages a dedicated deep neural network to generate TrueFidelity CT Images that help improved outcomes in a wide range of clinical applications.

TrueFidelity CT Images are said to elevate the image quality, sharpness and noise texture than most advanced iterative reconstruction technology, even at a low dose.

Effortless Workflow together with additional advanced applications is offered in addition to the GE Healthcare CT systems, or through a Smart Subscription.

Furthermore, GE Healthcare has installed the first Revolution Ascend with Effortless Workflow systems at Baptist Health in Miami, Florida.

Baptist Health Miami, Florida imaging services manager Gladys Farias said: “Having Revolution Ascend is like having an extra set of hands – which are much needed in today’s healthcare environment.

“Not only do the system’s intelligent solutions help us expedite exams, but they also enable us to deliver a more comfortable and personalised experience for each patient.

“Technologists love it for its simplicity. Clinicians love it for its results. And patients love it for its fast exams and comfort.”
