Custom Spine, a provider of next generation spinal implants, has received the US Food and Drug Administration's 510(k) approval for its Securis cannulated pedicle screw system.

The Securis screw system features a chromium-cobalt rod which provides stiffness and allows for a lower profile construct without sacrificing strength.

The design of Securis helps screw placement and provides a screw that can be fully seated in the bone, while maintaining full polyaxial motion of the screw head for easier rod insertion.

Custom Spine said it will exhibit Securis screw system at the annual meeting of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons at 14-18 April 2012 in Miami Beach, Florida, US.
