Digital health and connected care solutions provider Connect America has agreed to acquire only remote patient monitoring (RPM) provider 100Plus for an undisclosed sum.

100Plus is claimed to be the only RPM platform, which uses artificial intelligence (AI).

The acquisition will combine Connect America’s Personal Emergency Response Services (PERS) with 100Plus’ RPM solutions onto one care management platform.

Connect America is said to add complementary digital health products and technologies to facilitate both passive monitoring of patients in the home and better patient engagement outside of the physician’s office.

The 100Plus solution allows physicians and qualified providers to manage their patients with chronic conditions remotely and proactively engage them to eliminate episodic care and enhance their quality of life.

100Plus also provides an end-to-end solution, including patient outreach, device setup, patient engagement and automatic bill generation.

100Plus CEO Ryan Howard said: “100Plus has created AI-powered RPM technology solutions that are seamless for both patient and physicians to use and proven to improve the health outcomes of senior patients and drive better engagement.

The deal enables Connect America to acquire 100Plus’ Ava AI-assisted technology, which serves as a virtual physician assistant to facilitate better care coordination and patient engagement.

In addition, the AI-assisted technology will help minimise the burden on physician staff for non-reimbursable administrative work.

In March this year, 100Plus received $25m funding to advance its AI-based RPM product.

Connect America CEO Janet Dillione said: “We couldn’t be more thrilled to add 100Plus to our extensive line of solutions that help ageing and vulnerable individuals live safely in their homes.

“As we continue to grow and evolve, this next-generation technology and platform along with the talented 100Plus team, strengthen our connected care DNA and expand on our mission of enriching the ageing journey for the senior population.”

In June this year, Connect America also agreed to acquire Aging and Caregiving (ACG) business from Royal Philips, which consists of Lifeline Personal Emergency Response Service and senior living solutions.
