Canon Medical, a provider of diagnostic medical imaging solutions, has launched a new artificial intelligence (AI) innovation brand called Altivity.

By consolidating machine learning and deep learning technologies, the new AI brand is said to offer better quality and value across the entire care pathway.

Altivity has been designed to boost clinical confidence with quality images and applications, thereby helping to make informed decisions in real time.

The AI brand will also help provide fast and precise results for a more personalised treatment approach.

Altivity will enable to deliver simple and streamlined AI-driven workflows to enhance resource deployment and provide teams with insights for smart work.

Canon Medical president and CEO Toshio Takiguchi said: “We are passionate about the development of intelligent imaging solutions that reflect the changing medical landscape.

“With Altivity, we are strengthening our focus to help clinicians leverage their data and transform it into essential insight that improves outcomes for everyone.”

Canon Medical offers other AI products, including Advanced intelligent Clear-IQ Engine (AiCE) denoising deep learning technology for CT, MRI and PET/molecular imaging.

In November last year, the company secured 510(k) approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its AiCE technology.

Featuring deep learning technology, the company’s Automation Platform and AUTOStroke solution are designed to boost clinical confidence and streamline workflows.

Separately, Canon Medical has introduced  an all-new size for its Hi-Def flat panel detector to offer more than twice the spatial resolution of conventional flat panel detectors.

The company provides a range of diagnostic medical imaging solutions, including CT, X-Ray, ultrasound, vascular and MR, as well as a full suite of healthcare IT solutions.
