American laser company Candela has rolled out its new Profound Matrix system for radiofrequency-based skin treatments in the US.
The company has designed the radiofrequency microneedle system to correct, maintain, and restore skin at different stages of the ageing journey.
According to Candela, the multi-application system, which has been cleared by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), has the Sublime, Sublative RF, and the new Matrix Pro applicators.
The Sublime and Sublative RF applicators deliver bipolar radiofrequency (RF) treatments for enhancing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Candela said that the Matrix Pro applicator is made to regenerate and build new collagen, as well as to significantly improve the overall skin appearance and texture.
It delivers short-pulse RF radiation to the skin using a variety of the smallest microneedles that are currently available. This process is intended to increase patient comfort, reduce downtime, and maximise outcomes, the energy-based solutions provider said.
The Matrix Pro applicator has Depth Intelligence technology, which also includes real-time impedance monitoring. It can deliver up to three different user-controlled depth and energy settings in a single insertion.

The energy-based solutions firm said that the Profound Matrix system, which is powered by Dimensional RF, introduces a whole new class of medical aesthetic treatments that provide multi-dimensional treatment outcomes.
Additionally, this method allows practitioners to design and administer precise treatments depending on patient requirements while producing volume and improving skin structure. It is made possible by utilising various modalities that work at up to three depths of the skin.
