Afton Medical, a manufacturer of surgical instruments, has launched a new line of Titanium hormone pellet insertion trocars, designed for use with hormone replacement therapy.
The Titanium trocars, which are available in two sizes to accommodate 4.5mm-150mg-200mg and 3.0mm, 6 mg-125mg pellets, are designed specifically for hormone pellet therapy of Menopause, Perimenopause and Andropause (male menopause) patients.
The disposable and reusable stainless steel trocars are placed under the skin which dissolve slowly over time to release small physiologic doses of bioidentical hormones for approximately three to six months in women and up to nine months in men.
The studies demonstrated that when compared to conventional hormone replacement therapy, pellets offer relief of menopausal symptoms, maintenance of bone density, restoration of sleep patterns, and improvement in sex drive, libido, sexual response and performance.
In addition, patients who have had no success with other types of hormone therapy have a very high success rate with pellets.
