Havel's Incorporated, the Cincinnati-based provider of echogenic needles for ultrasound guided regional anesthesia, has added EchoTuohy ultrasound needle to its growing EchoLine of products.
Havel’s has previously released four new echogenic needles using its new, Micro Laser Etching (MLE) technology, which creates multiple angled surfaces to reflect sound waves back to the transducer even at steep insertion angles.
The new needle, the Echogenic EchoTuohy Epidural Needle, will be used for ultrasound guided peripheral nerve blocks, epidural catheter placement, and epidural steroid injections.
Havel’s Sales and Marketing vice president John Barrett said that once they had the technology to make needles echogenic without affecting the inner diameter, he knew that a Tuohy Epidural Needle was the company’s next logical addition to the product line.
