Medical service provider Affidea Group has announced multiple strategic acquisitions in three countries, Spain, Portugal and Romania as part of its growth strategy.

The acquisitions will add seven new centres to its network which will take the total number of centres in Europe to 327, seeing up to almost 12 million patients per year.

In Portugal, the firm acquired advanced diagnostics and outpatient services providers Clínica Nuno Álvares and Clínica de Santa Mafalda located in the municipality of Almada, greater Lisbon area.

Clínica Nuno Alvares offers a wide range of medical consultations, and clinical analyses, while Santa Mafalda Clinic, located in Costa Caparica, provides a range of consultations in more than 25 clinical specialities and blood analysis.

With the two acquisitions, Affidea Portugal has now 19 clinics at the country level, three laboratories and more than 300 blood collection points.

In Spain, Affidea announced the acquisition of polyclinics Infanta Mercedes Medical Centre, El Mirador Polyclinic and Colmenar Viejo Radiodiagnosis.

The Infanta Mercedes Medical Center is operational since 1990 and is situated in one of Madrid’s busiest commercial and residential districts.

The El Mirador Polyclinic and Colmenar Viejo Radiodiagnosis are two more facilities that have been serving the north of Madrid since 2011. With this move, Affidea Spain now has 40 clinics nationwide.

Affidea Romania’s network has grown to 38 facilities after acquiring the two Phoenix medical centres in Deva and Alba Iulia.

The company has doubled the size of the group over the previous five years by adding approximately 110 new centres within its network.
