Canada-based Adaptiiv Medical Technologies has joined forces with HP and Varian, a Siemens Healthineers company, to improve personalisation in radiation oncology with 3D printed medical devices.
The Multi Jet Fusion platform of HP provides users access to 3D printing technology for high-volume production of high-quality, flexible, patient-specific components.
HP’s 3D printing solution is said to be suitable for use in the healthcare industry as a result of the speed, quality, and economic advantages gained through HP’s manufacturing processes.
HP 3D printing vice president Louis Kim said: “The combined technology scale of HP and Varian, along with the leading-edge personalisation workflow of Adaptiiv, provides the improved solution that clinicians and patients deserve.

Varian is engaged in providing access to personalised, patient-specific 3D printed medical devices. It developed, built, and delivered new cancer care technologies and solutions for clinical partners around the world.
Through the agreement, Varian will advance its commitment to meeting changing consumer requirements and enhancing the patient experience.

Adaptiiv secured the US Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance for the Adaptiiv On Demand service earlier this year to manufacture and deliver 3D printed patient-specific medical devices.
