MAC said that the software is designed for hospitals and large, nationally-based healthcare companies to provide the patients with personal emergency response system hardware to take home with them when they are discharged from the facility.

The software gives patients some peace of mind, knowing that they can get help immediately if needed and the monitoring services for medical alarms typically had to go through an independent call center/central station.

The medical alarm will be monitored directly by trained hospital staff members, instead of an independent call center.

MAC said that the implementation of the software package into several hospitals is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2011.

Home and Healthcare Services director Steve Beeferman said, “This is a great opportunity for Medical Alarm Concepts. Providing these organizations with the ability to offer their patients a full-service medical alarm is a new take on an old idea. In addition, this creates an entirely new platform for both sales and revenue growth. We are very excited.”
