Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) elastomers are hygroscopic in nature and have a tendency to absorb moisture when exposed to atmospheric humidity. Prior to the processing (i.e. thermal or solvent) of TPUs, the moisture content must be reduced to a minimum.
