- Zirconium oxide ZrO2, yttrium or magnesium-stabilised
- Mixed ceramics made of Al2O3 and ZrO2 (ATZ/ZTA)
- Silicon nitride, Si3N4 isostatically pressed either hot or cold
- Silicon carbide, SiC or SiSiC (with free silicon)
- Piezo ceramic, PZT
- Glass ceramic such as Macor
