Temperature rise

Optimum effect and temperature conditions for specific applications are usually determined experimentally. The diagram shows temperature rise as a function of time for certain applications and various types of elements with different surface ratings. Surface rating is defined as the total power divided by the effective area of one side of the element. The figures refer to elements suspended horizontally in free air.
