The new Lizard is a groundbreaking solution, based on the superscalar Cortex-A8 processor, and is specifically designed to satisfy the increasing demand of systems requiring high performance but low power consumption levels.
Lizard offers high flexibility, thanks to the complete interfaces set and the extremely compact form factor (70mm x 50mm). The Lizard features the NEON multimedia accelerator, a PowerVR SGX 3D graphics engine from Imagination Technology (capable of 10Mpoly/s), on-board NOR and NAND flash memories as well as support for high-resolution displays. Moreover, it is one of the first solutions in the market that can offer a rich set of peripherals (including CAN, Ethernet, serial buses and 3.3V GPIOs) together with huge computational power (to run complex operating systems like Linux and WinCE), and simultaneously very energy efficient. In addition, Lizard is pin-to-pin compatible with Dave’s Zefeer ARM9
CPU module family, allowing customers to revamp their systems with reduced efforts.
The industrial specification compliance, including the extended operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C considerably broaden the application range, which can run from industrial control home automation to point-of-service products. With the new Lizard, an immediate implementation of all embedded systems is possible. Customers have a “dramatic” abatement of time-to-market due to the use of a CPU module that supplies all the key components of the system (CPU, RAM, PSU, flash memories and peripherals). This allows customers to concentrate on further differentiating their products
by focusing only on the design of the host board and the final application.
