Zimmer Biomet has signed an agreement to acquire the US-based soft tissue reconstruction solutions provider Cayenne Medical for an undisclosed sum.

Based in Scottsdale of Arizona, Cayenne Medical is engaged in the development and marketing of soft tissue reconstruction solutions for the knee, shoulder and extremities.

The company’s sports medicine offering of knee products includes AperFix soft tissue multi-ligament system with rigid aperture fixation, CrossFix all-suture meniscal repair device and iFix for bone-tendon bone fixation.

It also produces Quattro system, which is a complete line of shoulder products for rotator cuff repair and labral repair, as well as Mirror partial knee system that features ligament-sparing technology to balance the knee throughout the entire range of motion.

Subject to customary closing conditions, the deal is expected to complete in the second quarter of this year.

Zimmer Biomet produces orthopaedic reconstructive products, sports medicine, biologics, extremities and trauma products, spine, bone healing, craniomaxillofacial and thoracic products, dental implants and related surgical products.
