Germany-based Ziehm Imaging has received marketing clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its high-end motorized mobile C-arm Ziehm Vision RFD hybrid edition.

The Ziehm Vision RFD hybrid edition includes a 25kW generator, intuitive joystick operation, and various safety functions.

The device provides maximum image quality with minimum dose and offers a flexible, space- and cost-saving alternative to fix installed systems.

Ziehm Imaging managing director Klaus Horndler said with the new generation of the Ziehm Vision RFD Hybrid Edition the company is offering, for the first time, full motorization of a mobile C-arm in four axes: horizontal, vertical, orbital rotation and in angulation.

"Each position can be stored at the touch of a button and called up again at any time. This allows the operator to access the desired viewing angles and anatomic visualizations without having to constantly reposition the system on the OR table," Horndler added.

According to the company, Ziehm Vision RFD hybrid edition represents a group of optional hardware and software that creates an option package on the device named Ziehm Vision RFD.
