Healthcare technology firms Zephyr AI and KangarooHealth have entered into a partnership to combine the former’s machine learning technology with the latter’s proprietary remote monitoring platform to develop a predictive solution for clinicians.

The multi-year agreement is aimed to offer clinicians with insights to make informed treatment decisions for patients diagnosed with chronic conditions.

It will combine artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning with data from remote patient monitoring devices to forecast and prevent adverse outcomes.

California-based KangarooHealth offers a turn-key platform for remote patient monitoring for providers. The platform is Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and System and Organizations Controls (SOC2) certified.

The company specialises in remote patient monitoring, chronic care management, and therapeutic monitoring. It improves the quality of patient care by monitoring chronic conditions between visits and sending automatic alerts of early symptoms.

KangarooHealth’s platform and connected device network will be incorporated with Zephyr’s machine-learning models, which make use of algorithms to predict the onset and progression of disease as well as adverse outcome events.

The data from KangarooHealth’s monitoring platform is expected to accelerate the current machine learning capabilities of Zephyr AI and help clinicians to better foresee and avert adverse outcomes.

The platform integrates over 100 connected devices, including blood pressure monitors, blood glucose monitors, and other wearable technologies.
