XStor Medical Systems has been granted a patent number 7,844,691 for a scalable distributed storage system by the US Patent Trademark Office (USPTO).

The patent enables XStor software platform to utilise servers for optimal delivery of large volumes of data securely across geographically distributed locations, while providing simplified management of enterprise class storage.

XStor Medical CTO Kumar Gopal said their products are designed to satisfy the growing need for simplified and cost-effective storage management in the health care industry.

"This patent enables us to continue providing innovative solutions for meaningful collaboration across the hospital enterprise by providing fast access to medical images and data independent of where they are stored either in private or public cloud," Gopal said.

XStor develops software solutions for medical imaging connectivity and storage for the healthcare specialties such as radiology, oncology and pathology.
