WuXi PharmaTech, a medical device, biotechnology and pharmaceutical research and development outsourcing company with operations in China and the US, has appointed Edward Hu as chief financial officer (CFO) effective immediately.
Hu has been working for WuXi PharmaTech as chief operating officer since January 2008 before which he served as acting CFO from February 2009 through May 2010.
WuXi PharmaTech said that Hu’s appointment is as a result of the retirement of the present CFO Hao Zhou, who is expected to leave the company to pursue other opportunities and will assist in the transition.
WuXi PharmaTech chairman and CEO Ge Li said that he was confident that Ed’s familiarity with their business and their industry and his previous tenure as acting CFO would enable him to lead their finance team to perform even better.
WuXi PharmaTech is a provider of laboratory and manufacturing services throughout the medical device and drug R&D process.
