World Heart Corporation (WorldHeart) has appointed Morgan Brown as executive vice president (EVP) and chief financial officer (CFO). Brown brings over 16 years of experience to WorldHeart. Prior to WorldHeart, Brown worked for Lifetree Clinical Research as CFO and senior vice president. At Lifetree Clinical Research, Brown oversaw the accounting, finance, human resource, facility and information technology departments.
Prior to Lifetree Clinical Research, Brown was with NPS Pharmaceuticals Inc (NPS ), from 2000 to 2008, where he served as vice president finance and treasurer. During his tenure at NPS, Brown was involved in numerous financings as well as merger and acquisition activities.
Before NPS, Brown worked for KPMG LLP in salt Lake City. Brown managed multiple audit engagements, servicing private and publicly owned clients. Mr. Brown is a licensed certified public accountant in Utah and earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Utah and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Utah State University.
Furhter to his other responsibilities, Brown will manage the move of the World Heart Headquarters from Oakland, California to Salt Lake City, Utah.
