Welch Allyn, a provider of medical diagnostic products, has named Stephen Meyer as new president and chief executive officer (CEO).

Meyer will join no later than 16 April 2012 and replaces Julie Shimer.

Previously in 1981, Meyer served at Welch Allyn as a sales representative in Detroit.

At Welch Allyn, Meyer held many roles as an executive vice president and chief global business officer, where he was responsible for overseeing and advancing the company’s customer-facing efforts and delivering revenues internationally.

Meyer also served as president of Welch Allyn’s North American business.

Welch Allyn CEO Stephen Meyer said in the new CEO role, he will work with Allyn family owners and the board of directors to develop solutions that will help clinicians diagnose more patients and improve more lives.
