Welch Allyn, a provider of medical diagnostic equipment, has launched a small KleenSpec Disposable Vaginal Speculum.

KleenSpec Speculum made of smooth, molded acrylic, is designed to work with the company’s Cordless Illumination system.

Welch Allyn physical assessment manager Tracy Bennett said Cordless Illumination system features a LED light source which is whiter and brighter than conventional halogen systems.

"And because it’s cordless, our customers will have enhanced freedom of movement when performing pelvic exams," Bennett added.

"With continuous on-time of 80 minutes, and a rechargeable lithium ion battery, it’s a must-have for every physician’s office, hospital or clinic that cares about efficiency, safety and patient comfort.

"Our new extra small disposable vaginal speculum will allow obstetricians, gynecologists and family physicians to perform a comfortable, safe exam with virginal and pediatric patients as well as post-menopausal and post-hysterectomy women."
