Webmedx, a provider of medical transcription services in the US, has entered into a partnership agreement with NLP International Corporation (NLPI), which extends Webmedx’s technology and service solutions along with enhancement of data mining and search capabilities of the its QualityAnalytics product line.

Under the partnership, Webmedx will fully integrate NLPI’s advanced natural language processing (NLP) software into their QualityAnalytics solution thereby expanding customers’ ability to mine discrete, structured data from physicians’ transcribed, narrative reports called Narradata.

The companies said that the information can be used for a wide variety of secondary data uses in healthcare including core measures reporting, meaningful use quality reporting and clinical documentation improvement for RAC and other recovery audits in a 60% time savings and also supports the coding process and accelerates the populating of electronic health records (EHRs).

NLPI CEO Bernie Keppler said that the partnership with Webmedx provides a perfect opportunity to leverage the power of NLP data mining and the company is honored to have been selected as their search technology partner.

“The role, size and industry reputation of Webmedx, coupled with their technical expertise make this an ideal fit for our companies and our customers,” Keppler said.
