AI-powered healthcare company Viz.ai has introduced its new AI-powered software, Viz Vascular Suite, which helps vascular care teams automatically detect and triage care.
The Viz Vascular Suite is intended for patients suspected of pulmonary embolism, right heart strain, aortic dissection, and abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA).
It leverages artificial intelligence to automatically analyse a set of imaging modalities, including CT, ECG, and others, for suspected vascular diseases.
When a suspected pathology is identified, the app automatically alerts healthcare providers by displaying high-fidelity patient scans on their mobile devices.
Cooper Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Residency associate programme director Philip Batista said: “Recognising the symptoms of serious vascular conditions, such as aortic dissections, is hugely important because any delay in treatment can have a direct impact on patient outcomes.
“When Viz identifies an abnormal scan, it quickly notifies the appropriate specialists regardless of their location, facilitating seamless communication via mobile application.
“We’ve been using the Viz software for the last several months and have seen improvements in patient care across our institution.”
Viz.ai said that clinicians can use its Viz Vascular Suite to remotely coordinate vascular pathology care within a hospital system network.
The platform features enhanced AI capabilities that allow for immediate team activation, facilitate informed treatment decisions, and enable effective communication among specialists.
Furthermore, the AI health technology company has submitted filed a new 510(k) application to the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) for the AAA algorithm.

In November last year, Viz.ai launched its AI-powered radiology suite to alert the radiologist about suspected diseases, prioritise worklists, and connect care teams in real-time.
