The closed harvesting system offers an effective way to crop the donor grafts and preserves them in a climate controlled environment while awaiting implantation preparation.

The new restoration technology is said to provide hair restoration physicians several exclusive capabilities when performing FUE procedures.

Vision Medical CEO Roger Parkin said: "The history of our company, specifically our management team, has been building innovative products based on the needs and direct input of physicians."

Vision Medical executive vice-president Herb Rippley said: "By automating the harvesting process and eliminating many unnecessary manual steps, we have significantly reduced treatment times and the risk of damaging the follicles giving them the best chance of optimum regrowth."

The company has showcased the device at the 2015 Annual International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery meeting in Chicago, US.

Vision Medical develops and markets medical and aesthetic technology products for the medical and aesthetic marketplace across the globe.
