Vermillion, a molecular diagnostics company, has been relocating its corporate headquarters from Fremont, California to Austin, Texas. The move is expected to be completed in September 2010.

Vermillion has executed a two-year lease for a new principal place of business at 12117 Bee Cave Road, Building Two, Suite 100, Austin, TX 78731.

Vermillion said that it continues to operate research and development, regulatory and quality operations in California where as all other functions are expected to be conducted at the Austin offices.

Gail Page, chair of the board of directors and CEO of Vermillion, said: “This move allows us to take advantage of Austin’s talent pool and cost-effective environment to continue to build the company into a leading provider of novel, high-value diagnostic tests.

“Austin’s central location also facilitates more efficient and effective interaction with our national sales force and our strategic partners on the East Coast, such as Quest Diagnostics and Johns Hopkins University, as well as our colleagues on the West Coast, such as PrecisionMed and Stanford University.”

Vermillion discovers, develops and commercialises diagnostic tests that help physicians diagnose, treat and improve outcomes for patients. Vermillion, along with its scientific collaborators, has diagnostic programs in oncology, hematology, cardiology and women’s health.
