Varian Medical Systems is set to showcase image-guided radiotherapy and radiosurgery technologies at the International Technical Exhibition of Medical Imaging (ITEM) to be held between 13-15 April 2012 in Yokohama, Japan.

The technologies include PaxScan line of flat-panel digital X-ray image detectors, X-ray tubes, TrueBeam medical linear accelerator, RapidArc radiotherapy, Eclipse treatment planning software and ARIA oncology information system.

Varian’s PaxScan line of flat-panel digital X-ray image detectors as well as X-ray tubes for fluoroscopy, angiography, cardiology and cone-beam CT imaging are used for filmless imaging in dental, medical and other applications.

TrueBeam medical linear accelerator is designed for treating cancer patients with radiotherapy and radiosurgery, while RapidArc radiotherapy delivers treatments in just few minutes.

Eclipse treatment planning software is designed for delivering dose to tumors with minimal exposure and ARIA oncology information system streamlines clinical processes, improves workflow, eliminate paper charts and automates many aspects of managing complex radiotherapy treatments.
