Varian Medical Systems has secured a three-year, $450m contract from Toshiba Medical Systems, to supply medical imaging sub-components for integration into diagnostic imaging equipment for the global market.
In addition, Varian has also received a $21m order from US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for multiple IntellX cargo container screening systems.
Varian X-Ray Products, a business unit of Varian Medical Systems, is a supplier of X-ray tubes and digital detectors for X-ray imaging in medical, dental, veterinary, scientific and industrial applications.
Varian corporate senior vice president Robert Kluge said over the years, their two companies have developed a close cooperation at all levels of the business and have complementary design engineering and manufacturing capabilities, and work together well to realize new products and improve existing ones.
