The collaboration intends to develop medical devices for use in the care of patients with chronic conditions, enabling providers to access data in a secure, authenticated and auditable manner.
TrustedCare CEO Ramkrishna Prakash said: “TrustedCare is a pioneer in remote monitoring and together we can help improve health care efficiency by enabling providers to gather trusted data, helping them make timely clinical decisions and deliver better care at lower cost.”
Patients will also be to interact with providers through the devices which will be designed to enhance coordinated care in accountable care organizations via open standards.
Using existing and developing standards, the collaboration will create firmware, software technologies and APIs to bridge health care and wellness.
The created technologies are expected to drastically cut down the existing complex integration issues by delivering industry telecare standards to help health care and wellness device manufacturers to integrate smoothly with a wide range of health care management systems.
ARM health care technology director Shiv Ramamurthi said: “ARM is the most widely deployed processor technology in smartphones and wearables, devices we expect to be the main platform for securely gathering medical data and acquiring a patient’s biometric identity and consent.”
The collaboration’s proposal has been approved by the US Health and Human Services.
Earlier this month, The Department of Health and Humans Services named TrustedCare and ARM as one of the Phase 1 winners of the Move Health Data Forward Challenge.
