Canada-based Yolo Medical has received patent approval for Adipose Resolve For Low-power Laser from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

The patent, which has taken 7 years to be granted, relates to diode laser application applied to the body surface for the purpose of liquefying fats in adipose cells.

Yolo Medical CEO Robert Krznaric said the approval of the new patent allows the company the security to move forward aggressively, providing the industry with newer, innovative devices, while strengthening its IP portfolio.

"Furthermore, when coupled with our patent registered in 2011, YOLO’s legal department is now unhindered to vigorously pursue any infringements currently in the market place," Krznaric added.

"It represents one of several milestones that YOLO has committed to achieving this fiscal year.

"From an IP perspective specifically, it is one of several patents YOLO is currently pursuing, and a key component in further securing our technology, our brand and our company’s position as the leader in innovative medical and aesthetic devices."
