United BioSource Corporation (UBC) has opened a new office in Lorrach, Germany, further expanding the its clinical research and medical affairs capabilities in Europe.

UBC is a US-based global scientific and medical affairs organisation that partners with life science companies to develop and commercialise biopharmaceuticals, medical devices, and other health care products,

The Lorrach office is located near Basel, Switzerland and is the 10th UBC office to open in Europe, adding to facilities in the UK, Switzerland, Ukraine, Spain, Sweden, Hungary and the Czech Republic.

The new location builds on UBC’s global development and support capabilities for biopharmaceuticals, and other medical products. The new office will be led by Hazel Wohlfahrt, executive director of clinical services, Europe.

Ms Wohlfahrt has coordinated and led large international clinical studies and registries, covering all countries in Europe and is a recognised leader in German speaking countries.

Sean Hart, general manager for clinical services of UBC, said: “Our new office brings together clinical research experts in project and site management & monitoring with many decades of combined experience designing and executing successful product development programs.

“Our operational delivery capabilities, coupled with our growing site support team, who have a deep familiarity with the languages and populations in this region, provide our clients the strongest local support to develop and commercialise products in these important markets.”
