Toshiba America Medical Systems (TAMS) has launched new software for its Infinix-i vascular X-ray system.

The software enables interventionalists using Infinix-i to perform 3D image reconstruction and lower contrast imaging during critical procedures.

Toshiba said Infinix-i further enables productivity with hovercraft-like movement, resulting in unrestricted patient access from head to toe and fingertip to fingertip.

Toshiba X-ray vascular business unit director Stephen Bumb said patient safety is enhanced with expanded fluoroscopy features of software, that lower overall radiation dose.

The company said it will showcase its Infinix-i vascular x-ray product line at the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) annual meeting from 24 – 29 March 2012 in San Francisco.
