Celesteion features 90cm CT and 88cm PET bore that offers a feeling of openness for patients, and more accurate CT and PET imaging. The device provides fast imaging for reduced exam times.

The PET/ CT system has 70cm true CT and PET field-of-view and 85cm CT extended field-of-view. The device is yet to receive 510(k) clearance.

For safer CT imaging, Celesteion comes standard with AIDR 3D, Toshiba’s most advanced CT dose reduction technology. The new PET/ CT system is also compliant with MITA’s XR-29 Smart Dose Standard.

Toshiba CT business unit senior director Satrajit Misra said that accuracy and efficiency are crucial under healthcare reform, and Celesteion is capable of producing high quality images while improving workflow for providers.

Toshiba has unveiled the Celesteion PET/CT system for the first time at the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging meeting, from 7 June to 11 June 2014, in St. Louis.
