Medical diagnostic imaging systems provider Toshiba America Medical Systems has expanded its X-ray product portfolio, with the introduction of new Ultimax-i FPD multipurpose system.
The new system was developed to carry out complex procedures by providing routine angiography lab capabilities within an existing R&F space.
The multipurpose system holds capability to accommodate up to 500lb, with a wide and high-capacity table to comfortably image a range of patients.
Ultimax-i FPD system has full-spectrum detection on a flat-panel detector with corner-to-corner and 43cm x 43cm coverage for high-resolution imaging.
In addition, the system allows in reducing dose by limiting areas of anatomy receiving unnecessarily repeated radiation exposure, providing safer exams.
Toshiba X-ray vascular business unit director Bill Newsom said: "At Toshiba, we believe hospitals shouldn’t have to endure costly construction to renovate smaller existing R&F rooms or delay a system upgrade to expand their imaging capabilities.
"With Ultimax-i FPD, healthcare providers don’t have to sacrifice on advanced imaging technology, allowing them to deliver better patient care and achieve the Triple Aim of reform."
The company will exhibit the Ultimax-i FPD multipurpose system at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting in Chicago, which is being held from 29 November to 24 December.
In June, Toshiba America Medical Systems partnered with Merge Healthcare to provide new solutions for cardiology and hemodynamic.
Under the deal, Merge’s cardiology PACS and hemodynamic monitoring solutions will be integrated with the Toshiba portfolio of vascular x-ray systems.
