The ReoGo-J device has been developed to facilitate three-dimensional movements of limbs and measure their repetitive motion.
ReoGo-J, which will also be developed for home care use, is a rehabilitation robot designed specifically for Japanese patients.
The rehabilitation robot was originally developed by an Israeli venture firm as ReoGo. It enables to prevent the adhesion and contracture of paralyzed upper limbs and to recover range of motion in joints.
According to Teijin, the robotic arm attached to the patient’s limb helps the limb to move along a path to target point displayed on a monitor.
ReoGo-J aggregates 17 various movements, including radial and circular patterns. Based on the patient’s stage of rehabilitation, five operating modes providing different load and speed levels can be selected.
Teijin Pharma also produces WalkAide, an electrical-stimulation device for the rehabilitation of feet impaired by stroke.
As per the recent research, voluntary movement of impaired limbs by the patient can stimulate the recovery of brain systems and upper limb motor functions.
Teijin is a technology-driven global group, which produces advanced solutions in the areas such as healthcare, sustainable transportation, information and electronics, safety and protection, environment and energy.
