SurgiTech, a developer of powered cutting instruments, has entered into an agreement to license Amendia's SurgiFile spinal decompression system.

SurgiFile system uses the company’s proprietary technology and is well suited for use in both open and minimally invasive surgical procedures where the surgical site is difficult to access.

The system removes stenotic bone during spinal decompression surgery, while preserves stabilizing bony structures and protect neural and other soft tissues.

SurgiTech CEO Wade Fallin said, "We are pleased to partner exclusively with Amendia on spinal applications of SurgiFile and will continue to pursue other applications such as total joint reconstruction, trauma and sports medicine for this platform technology."

Headquartered in US, Amendia provides Class II and Class III medical devices used in spine surgery including spinal fixation systems, implants and instruments.
