SurgiCount Medical, a subsidiary of Patient Safety Technologies, has entered into an agreement to implement its Safety-Sponge System in one of the hospital operators in the US.
The Safety-Sponge System is a solution which is designed to improve patient safety and reduce healthcare costs by preventing retainment of foreign objects during surgeries.
SurgiCount and the operator are planning to implement the Safety-Sponge System across more than 130 hospitals that it operates.
Patient Safety Technologies president and CEO Brian Stewart said the implementation of the Safety-Sponge System across this entire organization will enable a higher standardized quality of care for all the affiliated hospitals using the solution, and they applaud their proactive pursuit of improving patient outcomes and reducing preventable costs.
