Sunridge International has signed an agreement with Ameco Medical Equipment for distribution rights in several Middle Eastern countries. The five-year contract valued at over $6.5m is expected to start immediately.

As part of the marketing strategies, Ameco Medical is expected to initiate a short study to involve local key opinion leaders with first hand experience with Pneumatic Trabeculoplasty (PNT) and to facilitate government reimbursement for the procedure within the region.

Sunridge said that the PNT has been proven through studies completed over the last 10 years to be a safe, effective, non-invasive and a cost effective alternative for treatment for glaucoma and ocular hypertension.

Accordingly, the PNT method is a 2-minute treatment, which has been developed, patented, and distributed by Sunridge’s, wholly owned subsidiary, Ophthalmic International.

Sunridge’s recently acquired Ophthalmic International (OI) is a manufacturer of medical products. OI holds worldwide patents on the PNT equipment, its disposable sterile suction ring, as well as the medical procedure itself.
