Under the agreement, Summit Radiology will implement Merge radiology information system, a web-based system that streamlines workflow and Merge picture archiving communication system to provide storage and access to images from any enterprise web-based location.
In addition, Summit Radiology will implement Merge Financials, a web-based billing system to improve revenue cycle management; Merge Documents solution to store and manage documents electronically; Merge Referral Portal to engage referring physicians as well as Merge Dashboards on-demand business intelligence solution.
Summit Radiology Associates president Amir Salomon said the center interprets studies for three sites including a busy hospital, a large multi-specialty practice, and a free-standing imaging center in Westfield, New Jersey, US.
"With the growing complexity of healthcare, we sought a system that would increase our efficiency and enhance our workflow," Salomon added.
Summit Radiology Associates business manager Marisol Ortiz said by deploying the latest version of Merge’s end-to-end Radiology Solutions, the center believes that it will pursue meaningful use for many of its radiologists.
"This will enable us to receive Meaningful Use incentive payments over the next four years and avoid future penalties," Ortiz added.
