Stryker has entered into a definitive agreement to purchase all the assests of Concentric Medical for $135m.

Concentric Medical has developed endovascular minimally invasive devices like Merci Retriever in 2004 and Trevo Retriever in 2010.

The Trevo Retriever uses Stentriever technology to remove clots from the neurovasculature.

The company said that the study of Trevo 2 Trial has been started to assess its safety and efficacy.

Concentric Medical president and CEO Maria Sainz said combining Concentric with Stryker’s Neurovascular division will provide opportunities to accelerate the development of technology and clinical evidence and will allow the commercial expansion of Concentric’s ischemic stroke therapy.
