Stevenson Memorial Hospital (SMH) is set to unveil its new Digital Mammography Suite on 30 May 2012.
The new Digital Mammography Suite will be equipped in the SMH’s Diagnostic Imaging department.
The new equipment captures and stores electronic pictures of the breast, while digital images can be viewed on a monitor and can be adjusted for brighter and sharper image.
SMH president and CEO Annette Jones said it is important that local residents have access to diagnostic services such as CT Scans and digital mammography in their own community.
"This has been made possible thanks to the generosity of our community, the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation, and our many community partners," Jones added.
